(a)The board of health shall assume the general administration of health and sanitation laws and regulations in the city, supervise the work of the health officer and attend to the administration and enforcement of the health laws of the state and the rules and regulations prescribed by the state department of health and social services and this Code.(b)The board may take such measures and make such rules and regulations as are necessary and effectual for the preservation and promotion of the public health in the city. (a)The city voting polls shall be opened from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for all elections.(b)Pursuant to Wis. Stats. § 7.30, the city has established a system of election officials to conduct all elections in the city. The city shall have no less than five such officials; provided, however, that the city clerk-treasurer shall have the power to limit the number of election officials and to employ election workers in shifts. The city clerk-treasurer shall determine in advance of each general election and special election whether the number of election officials for such election should be reduced from the number prescribed by state law and, if such a reduction is so determined, the city clerk-treasurer shall further redistribute the duties among the remaining officials.(Prior Code, § 1.09)
